Position: Grants Manager Schedule: Full-time Contract
Location: TeachUNITED office in Nairobi, Kenya, and travel within the region to meet the needs of the position or attend regional events as needed.

Schedule: Full-Time Contract
Term: 12 months, with possibility of extension based on job performance and availability of project-based funding.
Salary: $30,000 per year

Position Overview
The Grants Manager will oversee financial and procurement aspects of the project to ensure compliance with donor requirements, transparency in budget management, and timely, efficient procurement of goods and services. The role will support budgeting, financial reporting, procurement planning, and grant compliance for all project components.
Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Monitor and track expenditures in line with the approved project budget.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for both internal and donor use.
- Support budget forecasting, revisions, and realignments as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with organizational and donor policies.
- Liaise with auditors and provide necessary documentation during project audits.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure financial and procurement operations comply with grant requirements.
- Support capacity building of implementing partners in procurement and financial management.
- Monitor grant agreements to ensure deliverables, milestones, and reporting timelines are met.
Coordination and Support
- Collaborate with program teams to ensure financial and procurement processes support program implementation.
- Provide technical support and training to implementing partners on financial reporting and procurement documentation.
- Support donor reporting and participate in donor meetings as required.
Procurement Oversight
- Lead procurement planning in collaboration with project teams.
- Ensure procurement processes align with organizational and donor procurement policies.
- Manage vendor sourcing, tendering, and contract finalization.
- Maintain a procurement tracker and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and risk assessments.
Additional Duties
- Other duties may be assigned in support of TeachUNITED’s mission, programs, and team.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity, appreciation, and respect for diverse customs, cultures, and people.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Finance management, accounting, admin, customer service, business management and logistics/operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with budgeting, financial tracking, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with Google suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Slides, etc.)
