By identifying and supporting sustainability champions, incubating transformative ideas, leveraging private finance for public good, and replicating success stories at scale, GASP advances innovative solutions that ensure a thriving planet for future generations.
As we grow as an alliance, and scale our programs, the volume of data from the field, donors/partners, and digital engagement has grown significantly.
The Communications Intern will play a vital role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that demonstrate our impact to stakeholders, optimize our fundraising efforts, and improve the efficiency of our internal operations.
Role Summary
The Communications Intern will assist in the planning, creation, and management of communication materials for the organization’s social media platforms, newsletters, campaigns, and digital outreach activities. The role requires a creative individual with strong writing, design, research, and digital communication skills, along with an understanding of social media trends and audience engagement strategies.

Responsibilities
- Social Media Management and Content Creation
- Develop engaging and visually appealing content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, other relevant platforms.
- Create Instagram carousels, reels, stories, infographics, and short-form videos aligned with GASP’s campaigns and messaging.
- Draft compelling captions and campaign messaging tailored to different audiences.
- Assist in maintaining a consistent visual identity and tone across all communication channels.
- Schedule and publish posts in coordination with the communications team and content calendar.
- Graphic Design and Video Editing
- Design graphics, presentations, social media creatives, and promotional materials using Canva and other design tools.
- Edit short videos, reels, interviews, event highlights, and awareness campaigns using video editing software.
- Ensure all visual content adheres to branding and communication guidelines.
- Research and Trend Monitoring
- Conduct research on environmental conservation topics, climate action, sustainable development, and related thematic areas.
- Monitor social media trends, digital campaigns, and audience engagement strategies relevant to the sector.
- Identify emerging communication trends, hashtags, storytelling formats, and digital engagement opportunities.
- Analytics and Reporting
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics across platforms.
- Prepare monthly analytics reports highlighting audience growth, engagement, reach, and content performance.
- Support data-driven recommendations to improve communication and outreach strategies.
- Event and Campaign Support
- Assist in the promotion and coverage of organizational events, webinars, workshops, and campaigns.
- Support social media coverage during events where required.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather stories, testimonials, photographs, and impact narratives.
- Newsletter and Email Communications
- Support the development and design of newsletters using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms
- Draft and edit newsletter content, announcements, and outreach emails
