Background
The Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet (GASP) is an international collaborative effort dedicated to addressing the most pressing global sustainability challenges. By identifying and supporting sustainability champions, incubating transformative ideas, leveraging private finance for public good, and replicating success stories at scale, GASP advances innovative solutions that ensure a thriving planet for future generations.
As part of its mission, GASP is engaged in the Green Economy Accelerator for a Just Transition (GREAT) initiative, which focuses on empowering rural communities to become proactive agents of environmental regeneration and climate resilience . A key component of this project is the development of comprehensive data rooms and knowledge hubs that compile case studies, metrics, scalable solutions and regional players across areas like natural farming, biodigesters, agroforestry, biochar, greenhouse agriculture, and market access for smallholders farmers.
The Research Intern will play a vital role in supporting these initiatives, working with the core team and stakeholders, and contributing to the broader research efforts of the Global Alliance.
Role Summary
The Research Intern will play a key role in supporting the regional scale-up, replication, and resource mobilization efforts of the GREAT initiative. The intern will conduct landscape research to identify strategic interventions and regional players, maintain a robust partner repository, and support fundraising efforts through pipeline research and grant drafting. .

Responsibilities
- Research and Data Compilation
- Identify and profile emerging players, NGOs, and private sector actors across key intervention areas, including Natural Farming, Biochar, Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW), Agroforestry, Biogas, and Mangrove Conservation
- Build and maintain a comprehensive, structured repository of potential collaborators, technical experts, and regional stakeholders.
- Assist in analyzing regional scalability, localized impacts, challenges, and key performance metrics within target expansion geographies.
- Conduct desk research and synthesize data on current partner operations to help document best practices and lessons learned.
- Strategic Fundraising
- Identify potential institutional, corporate, and philanthropic funding opportunities, ensuring the internal fundraising database is up to date.
- Support the drafting of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and award applications
- Provide administrative and operational support for annual fundraising campaigns organized by GASP.
- Content Development
- Draft knowledge pieces and updates for the GREAT website and organization social media channels to amplify initiative visibility.
- Translate complex research findings into accessible summaries, insights briefs, and technical explainers.
- Coordinate with creative and communications teams to support ad-hoc research or multimedia projects.
