Communications and Reporting Officer
Job Overview
- Meraki Labs is looking for a Communications and Reporting Officer to support our internal and external communications, reporting, and project coordination. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to move between communications, reporting, coordination, and operational support.
- The Officer will help strengthen Meraki Labs’ visibility, especially through LinkedIn and other public-facing communications. They will also support the editing and preparation of reports, briefs, proposals, infographics, workplans, trackers, citations, and other project outputs. The role will involve both planned responsibilities and ad hoc support across projects, so the successful candidate should be flexible, responsive, and comfortable working in a small team where priorities may shift.
- We are especially interested in candidates who can write clearly, check details carefully, organize information well, and help turn technical work into accessible communications products. Experience in humanitarian, development, migration, displacement, research, evaluation, or civil society work is preferred.
- This is a remote position. Candidates should have a reliable internet connection and be comfortable working with a remote team across different time zones. Some flexibility in working hours will be required to join meetings and coordinate with team members when needed.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Support internal and external communications
- Support the development and implementation of Meraki Labs’ communications activities, on platforms such as LinkedIn and other public-facing platforms
- Draft, edit, and prepare social media posts, captions, announcements, and updates
- Help turn Meraki Labs’ reports, events, projects, and learning into accessible communications products
- Maintain a communications calendar and help identify opportunities to share Meraki Labs’ work
- Support the preparation of short summaries, visuals, and public-facing materials for different audiences
- Help ensure communications are clear, consistent, professional, and aligned with Meraki Labs’ mission, vision, and values
2. Support reporting, editing, and knowledge products
- Support the editing and preparation of reports, briefs, proposals, presentations, infographics, and other written outputs
- Review documents for clarity, consistency, formatting, grammar, structure, and flow
- Check citations, references, hyperlinks, footnotes, percentages, tables, and figures for accuracy and consistency
- Support the preparation of annexes, trackers, workplans, timelines, and supporting documents
- Help turn technical information into clear summaries, slides, visuals, or other accessible products
- Ensure documents follow agreed templates, formatting guidance, and organizational standards
3. Support project cycle management and coordination processes
- Respond to ad-hoc requests related to communications, reporting, coordination, editing, formatting, and project support
- Support the preparation of materials for meetings, events, proposals, reports, and stakeholder submissions
- Help identify practical ways to improve internal systems, templates, workflows, and document organisation
- Work flexibly across different projects depending on team needs and priorities
- Carry out other relevant tasks as requested by the supervisor
Required Skills
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English
- Ability to support the preparation of basic visuals, infographics, and communications materials

Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in communications, reporting, project coordination, research support, programme support, or a similar role
- Degree or diploma in communications, international development, humanitarian action, social sciences, public policy, journalism, project management, or a related field
- Experience preparing, editing, or formatting reports, briefs, proposals, presentations, or communications products
- Experience supporting social media or organisational communications, especially LinkedIn
- Experience working in humanitarian, development, migration, displacement, research, evaluation, or civil society work is preferred
- Knowledge of French, Arabic, Spanish, or other relevant languages is an asset
