About Lion Landscapes
Lion Landscapes is a UK-registered charity working across Kenya and Tanzania to enable coexistence between people and large carnivores. Through a portfolio of partner-led programmes, we work with communities, governments, and conservation partners to make space for wildlife and people to thrive together. Our work is supported by institutional donors, foundations, zoos, and individual supporters who believe in collaborative, evidence-led conservation.
The Role
We are recruiting a Fundraising Officer to take on a central role in our fundraising function. The post-holder leads donor reporting, supports grant proposals, manages donor records, and keeps the systems behind our fundraising work accurate and current.
It is a hands-on role with real ownership in a small, distributed team. You will work directly with senior fundraising and communications colleagues and with programme leads across Kenya and Tanzania. It will suit someone who is comfortable with both the substantive side of fundraising (drafting reports, contributing to proposals, analysing donor data) and the operational discipline that keeps a small fundraising function running reliably.
Key responsibilities at a glance
- Lead the production of donor and grant reports.
- Support the drafting of grant proposals and applications.
- Manage donor records and stewardship in Salesforce.
- Research new funding opportunities and track the pipeline.
- Support fundraising campaigns and individual giving.
For the full job description, including detailed responsibilities, experience requirements, and working pattern, please see the attached Job Description (PDF).
What we are looking for
- At least three years’ experience in fundraising, grants management, donor reporting, or proposal writing in the non-profit or international development sector.
- Strong written English, with the ability to draft both grant proposals and donor reports clearly and accurately.
- Working proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- Strong organisational discipline, able to manage multiple deadlines without items falling through the cracks.
- A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset, comfortable with both substantive analytical work and the operational work that keeps the function running.
Familiarity with international institutional donors, conservation or community-led programmes in East Africa, and experience working remotely in a small team are all welcome but not required.
