Fellowship tracks
The Winter 2027 programme offers three tracks:
Research
Develop a focused scientific, technical or policy project with an expert mentor. The aim is to produce evidence or practical outputs that can inform biosecurity decisions.
Placement
Contribute to an existing organisation or research team. Your project will address that team’s priorities, with supervision and working arrangements agreed for the placement.
Founding
Explore whether a biosecurity problem would benefit from a new organisation or initiative. This track supports testing an idea, understanding potential users and assessing whether to continue developing it.
All tracks include expert guidance and dedicated research management. Project scope and mentor or placement arrangements are refined before the programme begins. Explore the three tracks

The fellowship page lists 15 places, while the FAQ anticipates approximately 10–15 fellows. These figures describe the planned Winter 2027 cohort. Fellowship overview, cohort FAQ
