Fortis Fellowship 2027: Leadership Development, Mentorship and Lifelong Membership

Applications are open for the Fortis Fellowship 2027, a programme for people from disadvantaged backgrounds who want to create positive change through their work.

The five-month fellowship combines professional learning, mentorship and connections across sectors. It concludes with a gathering in Medellín, Colombia, in June 2027, after which fellows become lifelong members of the Fortis Society.

Fellowship benefits

The programme offers:

• Individual mentorship from a Fortis Society member.
• Professional workshops and opportunities to learn with other fellows.
• Connections with members across different countries and professions.
• Two days of cohort activities, followed by the annual Fortis Summit.

Who can apply?

You can apply from any country and professional sector. No degree, nomination or institutional endorsement is required.

All experience levels are considered, although new cohorts typically include people with one to five years of full-time work experience.

Selection considers four pillars:

• Humble beginnings: A low-income background and being the first in your family to pursue your particular path.
• An altruistic focus: Work that benefits other people.
• Ambition at scale: Significant goals supported by action already taken.
• Generosity: A willingness to share knowledge, connections and support with others. Official selection criteria

Format and time commitment

The programme uses English. Expect 2–4 hours of monthly virtual sessions and mentorship, plus four full days in Medellín. Participation requirements
