About the Role
We are looking for a Finance Manager to support APRI’s growing finance and operations team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role involves hands-on financial administration, project support, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a full-time, remote position, with preference for candidates based in Abuja or elsewhere on the African continent. The role is ideal for someone with a few years of finance experience in an international or NGO context, who is looking to grow and deepen their skills in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Administration & Project Support
- Support the Finance Manager in day-to-day financial operations
- Assist in the preparation and tracking of project budgets
- Upload and process invoices and receipts using APRI’s accounting tools
- Help allocate costs to correct budget lines and cost centers
- Monitor project expenditures and flag inconsistencies for review
Coordination & Documentation
- Liaise with project coordinators to collect financial information and documentation
- Support the preparation of financial reports and donor documentation under the guidance of the Finance Manager
- Ensure financial records are organized, accurate, and up to date
Collaboration & Tools
- Work with APRI’s custom project management and accounting systems
- Contribute to process improvement by identifying areas of inefficiency
- Collaborate closely with both finance and project teams across countries and time zones
Your Profile
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in finance/ accounting in a non-profit, international, or donor-funded context
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting tools
- Good understanding of financial workflows, budgeting, and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a remote, multicultural team
- Location: Based in Abuja or elsewhere in Africa
