This critical role will drive our social media activities at a national and local level. This will be achieved through ensuring targeted messaging is of a high quality, is insight-led and will inspire action as well as support the people we help and attract new audiences.

Roles and responsibilities
- Support the Head of Digital to develop and implement the social media elements of the Digital Strategy for the organisation.
- Lead our social media content programme, creating new content based on agreed organisational goals and objectives.
- Manage and support our moderation agency by developing and maintaining standard responses.
- Create content for our channels that follows our brand guidelines and is targeted to our audiences.
- Lead on paid social media campaigns, managing activity with the aim of acquiring new supporters and partners and to signpost the people we help to appropriate information and resources.
- Deliver both proactive and monthly analytics and reporting that can be used to inform the social strategy and make recommendations for optimising content by channel and audience.
- As part of the Digital Team, be able to support maintenance of the website from time to time (e.g. during busy periods or when capacity in the team is temporarily reduced)
- Collaborate with team members across directorates to identify opportunities to engage the public on specific issues and trigger supporter actions.
About you:
Essential experience
- Experience developing engaging content for owned social media, driving channel growth, measuring key metrics to inform performance and innovation.
- Experience of working with defined budgets to create paid plans and strategies. Reaching defined target audiences driving new people to our owned channels.
- Experience of moderating user generated content that can at times be challenging from the perspective of its unpleasant nature and in volume.
- Experience of working with stakeholders to develop a medium to long term plan of activity.
- Experience of coordinating briefs from internal clients, planning activity, developing and implementing processes and taking ideas from conception to delivery.
- Experience of using insight to inform strategic planning, creative and proposition development, and campaign decisions.
Desired experience
- Experience developing digital creative assets and content, including video, images, banners, and copy, to engage audiences online.
- Experience of managing a Google Grant budget.
- Experience working with individuals or organisations who have significant online followings and building a content plan and assets specifically for them
Essential skills, knowledge and abilities.
- Ability to manage a busy programme of activities, involving managing multiple projects and campaigns with competing priorities, to tight deadlines and to a high standard.
- Ability to produce high quality, compelling and highly effective content, using creative and copy appropriate to the communication channel and purpose.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex information to non-specialists in a clear, effective, and persuasive manner.
- Ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences and purposes.
- Able to build strong working relationships, contribute to a positive and proactive working environment and make active contributions in team and department meetings.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and quality in completed work. Particularly the ability to proofread and implement the brand guidelines throughout our content.
