About AWRA
The African Women’s Rights Advocates (AWRA) is a survivor-centred, Pan African feminist network working to dismantle socio-political and cultural barriers to gender justice across Africa and the diaspora. Registered in the UK, the Netherlands, Kenya, and The Gambia, AWRA operates through a flexible, movement-building approach that centres on survivors, grassroots leaders, and intersectional feminist values. AWRA connects the local to the global, serving as a convener, connector, and amplifier of African feminist voices.
Purpose of the Consultancy
AWRA is seeking an experienced, values-aligned consultant to strengthen its organisational architecture and strategic clarity in preparation for a new phase of growth and influence.
Consultant Profile
We are seeking a feminist organisational strategist with:
- Proven experience in organisational development, strategic planning, and governance in feminist movements or NGOs
- Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional compliance (UK, EU, Kenya & The Gambia)
- Understanding of feminist philanthropy and participatory grant-making
- Strong facilitation, synthesis, and documentation skills
- Dedicated to anti-oppression, Pan-Africanism, and “for and by” approaches.
