Results Canada is recruiting a Policy and Advocacy Officer to join our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Reporting to the Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager, the Officer supports the development and execution of advocacy campaigns through policy research and strategic engagement with government and multilateral institutions, and participation in various coalitions. The Officer contributes to the development of advocacy materials, represents Results Canada in national and global forums, and helps mobilize public and political support through targeted actions and communications.
responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of advocacy campaigns that contribute to ending extreme poverty, with a focus on TB.
- Conduct research and analysis of Government of Canada global health policy, programs, and funding, as well as relevant international institutions and financing mechanisms.
- Draft policy briefs, campaign messaging, and other advocacy materials to inform parliamentarians, civil society partners, grassroots volunteers, and the general public.
- Monitor and report on campaign progress, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate Results Canada’s engagement in national and global coalitions, including supporting the Stop TB Canada network as its secretariat.
- Align stakeholders around shared priorities and facilitate collective advocacy actions.
- Represent Results Canada at external meetings, conferences, and events, and identify opportunities to advance campaign goals.
- Collaborate with the communications team to generate content for social media and public engagement that elevates Results Canada’s advocacy priorities.
- Contribute to Results Canada’s thought leadership by supporting special projects, campaigns, event planning and management.
- Support the integration of anti-oppression principles into all advocacy work.
- Contribute to organizational learning, knowledge-sharing, and strategic planning processes.
requirements
- Post-graduate degree or equivalent working experience in international development, public policy, global health, political science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of global health architecture, with emphasis on organizations or mechanisms relevant to TB (e.g., the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, Stop TB Partnership).
- Knowledge of and/or experience in advocacy.
- Strong research and policy analysis skills, with the ability to distill complex information clearly and concisely.
- Excellent research, policy analysis, and organizational skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience with digital platforms like Zoom, Slack, Google Suite, Google Groups, Canva, and social media (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Willingness to work irregular hours (including evenings and weekends) as required for events, calls etc.

work environment
Results Canada operates as a hybrid work environment with staff working from home and the Results Canada Ottawa office (approximately two days per week). The Policy and Advocacy Officer must be based in Ottawa or the immediate surrounding area in order to attend in-person events.
