We are embarking on an exciting new phase in the alliance’s history, where we aim to become the most powerful global movement tackling the power of the 1% yet. To achieve this, we are embarking on our 10-year road map (2023 to 2033). For the alliance, the next decade is a critical time for the system that replaces neoliberalism to be defined and fought for. We seek a Senior Fundraiser to lead our global resource mobilisation efforts and ensure the sustained financial health of our growing global movement.
About the role:
The Senior Fundraiser is key to Fight Inequality Alliance’s resource mobilisation efforts, ensuring the sustained financial health of the organisation to advance its mission. Reporting to the General Secretary, the incumbent leads income generation, donor relations and reporting. The Senior Fundraiser also serves as a strategic partner in aligning fundraising initiatives with FIA’s long-term vision. By cultivating strong relationships and diversifying funding sources, developing impactful donor engagement strategies, and ensuring transparency in financial stewardship, the Fundraising Lead will empower FIA’s global, regional, and national secretariats to execute their programs effectively. This position is central to building a resilient funding portfolio that supports both growth and innovation, helping FIA maximise its impact across social justice, grassroots mobilisation, and systemic change.
What you’ll do:
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Senior Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in driving FIA’s fundraising efforts globally. Reporting to the General Secretary, you will:
- Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies as part of our FIA’s 10-year roadmap.
- Play a key role in ensuring FIA meets its annual fundraising targets.
- Cultivate and grow existing and new relationships with diverse donors, including foundations, individuals, and members.
- Lead proposal development to secure unrestricted funding for FIA’s impactful work.
- Manage donor reporting, ensuring transparency and compliance.
- Support national and regional alliances across the world to develop their fundraising strategies and identify opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Fundraising Expertise: At least 7years of extensive experience in fundraising, with a proven record of securing funds from foundations, intermediaries, and individuals.
- Team Collaboration: At least 4 years of experience working within multi-disciplinary, global teams, contributing to an inclusive and collaborative work culture.
- Individual Giving: Hands-on experience in individual giving campaigns, including donor outreach, cultivation, and retention.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Substantial experience navigating the legal and regulatory environment of international civil society organisations, ensuring compliance and risk management.
- Strategic Development: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategy, ideally in the non-profit or advocacy sector, with a strong understanding of the intersection of policy, finance, and social impact.

- Be open to learn/follow the lead/ be accountable to those who experience oppression based on gender, race/ethnicity, disability, socio-class, LGBTQIA, geography, etc.
- Willingness to travel as required without creature comforts.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Completely fluent and strong in English. Preferably also fluent in at least one other language.
- The successful candidate should be able and prepared to travel abroad for organizational activities
Position type: One-year contract
Salary: As per FIA salary grade 11 which can be accessed here
Contract Type: Full-Time preferred, with flexibility for reduced hours based on agreement.
