Deadline Date: January 07, 2026
The African Youth Action Lab is offering Representation Grants designed to support youth-led projects with a maximum duration of 12 months.
Grants range from 10,000 to 20,000 euros, categorized as medium and large grants, and are available to registered youth-led groups, community-based organisations, and grassroots movements.
Eligible organisations must be non-profit foundations, community-based organisations, or non-governmental and civil society organisations with a clear social mission. Leadership by young people is central: all governance members and employees involved in project implementation must be aged between 18 and 35. The organisation must also be formally registered in its country, have a bank account, and a clear governance structure.
The grants are available for projects operating in one or more of twelve focus countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia (Somaliland region), Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Proposed activities must take place within these countries and aim to create meaningful engagement and impact for young people.
In addition to formal eligibility, successful applicants are expected to demonstrate commitment to youth leadership and intercontinental collaboration. Projects should build connections among young people across Africa and Europe, sharing knowledge and experiences through platforms like the Youth Action Digital Platform and Annual Learning Events. Activities can vary depending on local context but should prioritize youth participation, collaboration, and learning.
This grant represents a unique opportunity for youth-led organisations to strengthen their capacity, deliver impactful projects, and engage in international exchange, all while placing young people at the center of leadership and decision-making.
