What kind of project should you propose?
The selection emphasis is improving public administration, with usable data and clear institutional support. Your project should use data already available or realistically collectable during the fellowship. Project selection guidance
The Government Analytics Handbook covers sources such as:
- Personnel and payroll records.
- Procurement and expenditure data.
- Administrative case records.
- Surveys of public servants.
- Citizen surveys and external assessments.
These sources can help organisations understand operational differences, identify inefficiencies and improve management. For example, procurement records can reveal differences in purchasing costs, while staff surveys can provide evidence about working conditions and management practices.
