- OVERVIEW
The Multimedia Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the creation, development, and execution of multimedia content across a range of AWID’s platforms. This includes video, audio, graphics, and interactive elements that drive engagement with AWID’s audience. This includes the production of video, photographic and multimedia, as well as managing the design, user experience, functionality and content upkeep of AWID’s website. Along with the Digital Content and Partnerships Lead, they co-lead on working to increase the online reach and impact of AWID’s knowledge production.
- MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy and Development:
- Lead the strategy for multimedia content creation, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader communication goals.
- Develop a plan to integrate multimedia content across platforms, from social media to website, ensuring consistency and cohesion across all internal and external outputs.
- Create multimedia content strategies for campaigns and initiatives that align with AWID’s feminist values and audience needs.
- Collaborate with initiative teams, strategic partners and membership organizations to design multimedia campaigns that drive engagement, visibility, and conversion.
- Ensure that all multimedia content adheres to accessibility standards and organizational branding guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with trends in multimedia technology and creative practices, ensuring that content production processes reflect innovation and audience engagement.
- Content Development, Production, and Promotion:
- Lead the production of multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, infographics, animations, and interactive web content.
- Work with the Digital Content & Partnerships lead to oversee content development and production processes, managing creative workflows, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with initiative teams to produce content that supports key projects.
- Develop promotional strategies for multimedia content, ensuring broad distribution across digital channels.
- Website and Digital Platform Integration:
- Support ICM team and external web development team in the creation and upkeep of AWID’s website, collaborating with initiative teams to create a visually engaging, informative, and interactive website.
- Manage the integration of multimedia elements into the organization’s website, ensuring that content enhances the user experience and reflects brand identity.
- Ensure all multimedia content is optimized for performance, loading speeds, and user accessibility across platforms and devices.
- Maintain website content alongside Digital Content Lead and ICM Coordinator.
- Social Media and Content Distribution:
- Oversee the creation and distribution of multimedia content across the organization’s platforms, including video, GIFs, stories, and live broadcasts.
- Ensure that all multimedia content is consistent with organizational messaging, values, and tone.
- Support the integration of multimedia content in real-time event coverage, such as live-streaming or social media updates.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of multimedia content produced
- Provide recommendations for improving multimedia content production and audience engagement based on performance data.
- Use insights to continuously refine multimedia strategies and create more effective, impactful content.
- Analyze performance data to refine multimedia strategies, ensuring content resonates with target audiences and aligns with organizational goals.
- Organization Development and Support:
- Ensure the timely and effective implementation of deliverables outlined in individual work plans, including related activities, reports, and evaluations.
- Monitor and manage individual work plans, timesheets, staff expenses, and associated HR and administrative requirements.
- Set and work toward achieving SMART performance objectives, including personal and professional development goals.
- Actively participate in Team, Area and All-staff coordination and planning meetings to support effective collaboration and organizational alignment.
- Identify and explore opportunities to improve task management and build personal capacity for growth.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as agreed upon with the line manager, supporting team and organizational priorities.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Five years of experience in a similar role with at least one year within a non-profit development, gender, human rights and/or funding organization in the Global South.
- Expertise in creating various forms of content, including videos, graphics, infographics, and podcasts, for diverse digital platforms.
- Advanced skills in video filming, editing, and post-production using industry-standard software like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in using design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for creating visually engaging digital assets.
- Strong writing skills for crafting compelling narratives and scripts for audiovisual projects, ensuring alignment with the AWID’s values.
- Ability to maintain consistent branding across all multimedia content, ensuring visuals align with the organization’s tone and messaging.
- Experience managing multimedia projects from concept through production, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in sound recording, editing, and mixing, ensuring high-quality audio experiences for video projects, podcasts, and other multimedia content.
- Experience and proficiency in working alongside international standards of ensuring that all multimedia content is accessible and inclusive of diverse audiences.
- Proficient knowledge of website management (e.g., WordPress or similar platforms).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects at the same time.
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards and best practices.
- Proficient in social media and digital tools, including content management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in managing content across multiple platforms.
- Strong expertise in the use of various software and a high level of computer literacy (MS Office Suite, Google Apps, instant messaging and virtual team collaboration software such as Slack and Asana)
- Ability to travel internationally (approx. 6-8 weeks per year)
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in travel or event management, and administrative support
- Experience working with diverse communities from multiple identities across the globe, in a virtual environment
- Basic financial management, including procurement and managing external consultants
- Spanish and French is a plus
